Thought residents would like to have some more knowledge on how to make a public records request in Florida. Please not a telephone call is acceptable under state law as indicated.

I suggest that those residents that that have an interest in the how's and why's regarding public records read this short 10 tips to requesting public records so that you will have a good idea of how to request them and what not to do.

I also recommend that all those interested to support organizations like First Amendment Foundation as they have a great book available with a minimum support donation (Government in the sunshine manual) I get one every year to keep up with changes. (Under general membership)

They also have seminars for those that want to attend.
